The Rocky Horror Show & the Power of Social Media

Here is another media call for the Citadel Theatre. Once again, this is single camera coverage and its one scene shot twice and then carefully edited to look like two cameras and one take. I shoot these videos for the Citadel to provide raw material for any media that requests it. I also edit my footage and create a trailer to place on the Citadels website and social media pages. This video had over 2000 views in the first few hours of being posted. I love it when I see my clients get such fast results and they still havn’t even tweeted or posted it to their Facebook page yet. Once they do, I imagine it will create another one or two thousand views within a few short hours. The views have a direct impact on increased ticket sales as well as creating new Facebook fans and Twitter followers, and that is the true beauty of social media.
MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy Profile Videos

I made two promotional videos for MH Vicars School of Massage. The videos are aimed at potential students who are interested in massage therapy. The first one is Bree’s story, a former photographer who desired a change in her life. The second one is Jordan’s story. Jordan was a former golf pro who decided to return to school and focus on massage therapy.

Blu’s… a photography/video shoot

Blu’s Womans Wear in Edmonton’s Southgate mall had recently undergone a “face lift” and I was asked to capture the new look and feel of the store. I brought my DSLR along for the ride and shot both formats of media (video and stills) for them and I edited some of the images into the promotional video. The video is above and here are a few of the photographs as well.
The new look for the store is warm, energetic and inviting. It’s located on the second level of Southgate centre, Edmonton.
Color Dream – Alex Folzi

Alex Folzi is a local fashion brand created by two young and spirited entrepreneurs known as the Fagbure twins. They wanted a video that was expressive and colorful to help promote thier vintage canvas cases. I directed, shot and edited the video “Color Dream” which has been wonderfully received by their targeted market. These twins really grasp the power of social media and have started a global brand locally through Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. Instead of turning pages to see what’s next, they are writing their own story and I am proud to know them.
Billy Bishop Goes To War

One of my contracts is to provide media call coverage for the Citadel Theatre. Whenever a new play opens, I shot the media call and provide footage to any of the news stations that was unable to attend. I also edit the footage I shot into a promotional trailer for the Citadels website. The challenge is shooting one scene twice and hoping for continuity from the actors so I am able to edit the two angles together flawlessly. In live theatre, this rarely happens but I always find a way to make it work.
This years season just started and the first play is Billy Bishop Goes To War.
John Ullyatt as Billy Bishop Goes to War Featuring Ryan Sigurdson Written and Composed by JOHN GRAY In collaboration with ERIC PETERSON Directed by JAMES MacDONALD September 18 – October 10, 2010 Citadel Theatre The Heroic Tale of a Canadian Icon The incomparable John Ullyatt takes to the stage as Billy Bishop, recounting the death-defying heroism of one of the First World War’s most prized pilots. The Edmonton Street Performers Festival

I was honored to shoot and edit a promotional video for the Edmonton Street Performers Festival. The voice over was done by the talented and sometimes witty, Peter Brown of CBC Radio. We had a script but we did improvise a lot. The humor is subtle but hilarious and there is a bonus clip at the very end of the credits as well.
Kimberly Spears Promo Video

Kimberly needed a cost efficient promo video so I did single camera coverage of a couple of her recent gigs to produce this demo.
No matter what your business is, from music videos to making candy, I can help with marketing by producing budget friendly videos designed to get you seen and your message heard.

Alberta Pond Hockey Video

Once again, David Mathew Bonner Video Productions was commissioned to produce a promo video for the Alberta Pond Hockey Tournament. Last year, Warner Brothers Music allowed us to use the song Better days by the GOO GOO Dolls. This year, RCA Records granted us permission to use the Foo Fighters song Times Like These. Hmm, first Goo, now Foo, I am afraid to find out what band we will use next year?!?
