The Rocky Horror Show & the Power of Social Media
Posted on: November 4, 20112 comments so far (is that a lot?)
Here is another media call for the Citadel Theatre. Once again, this is single camera coverage and its one scene shot twice and then carefully edited to look like two cameras and one take. I shoot these videos for the Citadel to provide raw material for any media that requests it. I also edit my footage and create a trailer to place on the Citadels website and social media pages. This video had over 2000 views in the first few hours of being posted. I love it when I see my clients get such fast results and they still havn’t even tweeted or posted it to their Facebook page yet. Once they do, I imagine it will create another one or two thousand views within a few short hours. The views have a direct impact on increased ticket sales as well as creating new Facebook fans and Twitter followers, and that is the true beauty of social media.
The Go Pro & 10 Days On The Road

One of the projects I am working on this year is a promotional video for the St Albert Sports Academy. This gave me the reason I needed to buy a Go Pro Hero camera for myself work. The Go Pro is a very small and affordable HD camera that allows you to capture some otherwise imposable moments from a very cool perspective. I bought it primarily to place on hockey helmets and the goalie masks for the sports academy video but I also plan on incorporating it into other projects by mounting it on vehicles or putting it in tight spots where a camera person wouldn’t be able to fit or it would be too dangerous to shot from. Before taking it out on any professional shoots, I needed to test what this camera was able to do so I took it with us on our summer family vacation. The following video was made using only the GO Pro and some of it was even shot by my 5 year old girl. I call it

MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy Profile Videos

I made two promotional videos for MH Vicars School of Massage. The videos are aimed at potential students who are interested in massage therapy. The first one is Bree’s story, a former photographer who desired a change in her life. The second one is Jordan’s story. Jordan was a former golf pro who decided to return to school and focus on massage therapy.

I am really grateful for not only being able to make a living doing what I love to do but also for all the appreciation I receive from my clients. The following letter came today from the City Of St.Albert:
“Working with David Mathew Bonner Productions has been a great experience.
David struck an effective balance between being professional yet creative. He was able to take our small idea and turn it into a big screen reality, all in an extremely short time-frame. Above all, he was able to put the video subjects at ease and capture the essence of their messages. David’s suggestions and insights throughout the process evolved into a product that was spot on for our needs: classy, humorous, and meaningful.
It was a pleasure working with David, and I would highly recommend his video production services.”
Laura Bragg, The City of St. Albert

Thank you to all my clients. I sincerely appreciate the opportunities and have enjoyed my time working with all of you.

Edmonton Marketing Video Productions & The DMB Advantage

Lights, Camera and Action!
Being a smaller company with a large imagination has its benefits. It creates a win-win situation for me and my clients.
I would like to take a moment to explain the DMB advantages and why I should be considered for your project, no matter how big or small:
Over a decade of experience. I am experienced in all fields of production and, on most projects, I do 100% of the work myself. Doing the projects alone not only results in a lower overhead but also a better communication with you, the client, making the process, from concept to delivery, one that often exceeds my clients’ expectations.
Customer focus: Because I do keep a smaller overhead and only expend with contract workers as needed, I am able to select the videos best suited for my skill set and the ones I feel passionate about. This allows me to keep my focus on your project. I am not afraid to turn down a job if I feel I am not the right person for it. I do not operate a factory line that needs to pump out videos to stay afloat; My business is simply a passion that I live for. Even at play or at sleep, my mind continues working. The creative process is 24/7 and combined with my skill sets, this gives me a clear advantage over my competitors.
Superior web optimization skills: You found this Web Page because I designed it that way. I understand marketing and the Internet, in fact you can Google Edmonton Marketing Videos, Edmonton Video Productions, Edmonton Videographer or even Professional Videographer with no city mentioned and I will be on the first page. I know how search engines work and what people need to see when they arrive. I have this site built to attract the clients I am best suited for.
Last but not least, I have a fun & creative energy that is contagious and I feel it shows in my work and in my character. My name and integrity are important to me which is why I call my business David Mathew Bonner. I am here not only to help you develop a video that fulfills your needs, but also to help your business be seen. My understanding of search engines, social networking and marketing is an asset that goes beyond the lens and will help you reach your goals faster and with a greater success.
I look forward to your business,
David Mathew Bonner
Bud Light Lime Video

On Aug 8, 2009, I was hired by Mosaic Experiential Marketing to provide video and photo coverage of a Bud Light Lime Launch Party in Red Deer, Alberta. I shot the event using a Canon Mark 2 camera that allowed me to shoot both medias effortlessly. Here is the video I produced.
A special thanks to Larry Finnson and Chris Emery, AKA “the Clodhopper Guys” for allowing me to use the song “Go” which was written and produced by Volume.
Ron Pederson of Mad TV and CBS’s The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege to shoot a special media call for the world premiere of Extinction Song being held at Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. The play is written and directed by Ron Jenkins and stars Ron Pederson.
Ron is a talented actor and is best known for his work on Mad Tv and the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. It was an honor to spend a little time with him and being able to witness his madness up close and personal.
Check it out.
Warning, the video deals with mature subject matter. Viewer discretion is advised.

A New look For A New Era.

With the transformation into HD and the quality of streaming video improving drastically, we wanted to have a web site that was able to showcase our work more. We feel this new site does just that. The focus is more on the videos and less on words. For archive reasons, our old site can still be found here.
Thanks
David Mathew Bonner
